At Kilkhampton Infant and Junior School we use Jolly Phonics as our scheme of work for teaching phonics in the Foundation Stage and in Key Stage One. Children who need extra support receive interventions using the 'Read, Write Inc' programme.

At Key Stage Two, if children still require phonic teaching, they are taught using the Key Stage Two 'Letters and Sounds' programme.

All of our teaching staff and teaching assistants have had phonics training.

In Key Stage Two, we teach the children through using the 'No Nonsense Spelling' programme.

Are you unsure about how to sound out the letter sounds with your children?  The clip below will help.

Jolly Phonics Letter Sounds (British English)

Listen to the 42 letter sounds of Jolly Phonics, spoken in British English. Each letter sound is clearly spoken twice, before an example word is given. Perfect for parents, teachers and children who aren't sure how to pronounce the letter sounds.
