Our school motto sums up our approach to how we care for and educate our children.

Everything matters -   Everyone counts -  Be the best you can be

Through teaching our children about and constantly referring to this motto we aim for the children to:

Respect themselves, others and the environment around them.

Try their best in everything, no matter whether they find it easy or hard.

The following mission statement was drawn up by staff and governors:

At Kilkhampton Junior and Infant School we work together as a community to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where everyone is motivated to learn, is valued as an individual and is encouraged to  meet their full potential.

We aim to develop:

• good manners and a clear understanding of right and wrong
• confidence to communicate effectively and appropriately
• respect and pride in one's self, others and the environment, both local and the wider world
• the knowledge skills and practical abilities needed throughout life
• the ability and motivation to act independently and as part of a team
• an understanding and acceptance of people of different colours, cultures, religions, ability, background or sexuality
• the knowledge to make healthy choices
• a lively enquiring mind and an enthusiasm for learning
• to laugh and have fun!
